Dear Friend of St. John's,
What a privilege it is for us to work with the St. John's family as we launch our capital campaign Faith to Grow, Serve, Build, & Share. Over the last several months of planning and preparation, three congregational strengths have stood out in our minds:
- The understanding that to whom much is given, much is also asked.
- The growth of fellowship and evangelism that creates a sense of family and unity.
- The importance of maintaining a strong focus on the youth of our congregation and community.
Through our Faith to Grow, Serve, Build, & Share appeal we will raise funds to fulfill some of the findings of our strategic planning committee:
- Service our debt payments
- Open the narthex and hallway to eliminate overcrowding
- Creating an improved covered entry and drop off area
- New exterior signage for a more visible and welcoming appearance
Our Faith to Grow, Serve, Build, & Share appeal has evolved out of the spirit, energy and strength of our congregation. We have been blessed with strong pastoral and lay leadership since our inception 82 years ago. Pastor Ed and his family are an extension of that tradition and we are truly blessed to have them with us at this juncture in our journey!
Faith to Grow, Serve, Build, & Share is all about strengthening our relationship with God and each other. It is also about building relationships with those in our community and world who do not yet know the love of Jesus Christ. We know you agree with us that all these relationships need warm, comfortable, inviting spaces in which to meet and flourish. If facilities are inadequate, people stop coming. So, if we are faithful to God's calling. we need to update and add spaces. it's that simple.
As we embark upon our Faith to Grow, Serve, Build, & Share campaign, we invite you to join with us in praying for our congregation. Pray for joyous hearts / surrendered hearts / trusting hearts / generous and sacrificial hearts. Please plan to worship with us often, read through the information provided in this packet, and discuss as family and seek divine guidance. Then join us on Sunday, November 8th as we present our pledges on God's altar.
With gratitude,
Greg Gardner and Nancy Lass
