St. John's Memorial Garden

Memorial Garden Brochure (PDF)

Since ancient times, Christians have buried their loved ones in the churchyard, symbolizing the continuum of faith from birth to death, Memorial Garden Wallbaptism to burial. In keeping with this tradition, St. John’s has established a Memorial Garden for the interment of the cremated remains of St. John’s members and their families.

No form of interment prevents the resurrection. The power to resurrect is in the hands of God, not in our burial practices. For those who choose this type The Lord is my Shepherdof interment, this lovely and quiet garden setting for reflection and prayer is there to honor those who have entered the Church Triumphant.

Interment in the Memorial Garden is available to members of St John’s, past and present, and their families. Upon application approval, a contract is signed and a designated area is assigned with space for an 8″ x 8″ receptacle. Whenever possible, arrangements should be made well in advance of need. The names of those interred are inscribed on a brass plaque in the Garden. The church office also maintains a registry of names and short biographies to memorialize those who are buried in the Memorial Garden.
