The purpose of the Foundation is to support charitable, educational, and religious causes and projects of St. John’s Church of every kind and nature. A variety of activities have been funded and have included support for the Westonka Food shelf; WeCAN; youth scholarships for bible camp, vacation bible school and mission trips plus scholarship and loan relief program(s).
The St. John’s Lutheran Church Foundation was incorporated in 1982 with a gift of $30,000. The Foundation investment fund is now over $2 million. Funds are raised primarily through pledges, memorials, special gifts and estates. Contributions to the Foundation are somewhat unique, in that all funds raised are invested. Only the earnings from those investments are spent each year. In essence, the funds keep perpetuating year after year.
We invite all St. John’s members to pray for our Foundation and remember the Foundation with a special gift or pledge and/or including the Foundation in your estate planning. All gifts are tax deductible and will help the St. John’s Foundation to continue and expand our good works.
