Worship & Music

Worship

Join us for Worship held on Sundays at 9:00 AM & 10:45 AM and on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM, with time for fellowship, coffee & treats after each service.  Our worship services are where we gather to give our thanks and praise to God.  We come to be fed by God’s Word, by Holy Communion and through fellowship with one another.

Our Sunday 9:00 AM service follows the Lutheran liturgy and you will likely experience our choirs, handbells, organ, and piano music.  Holy Communion is served each week (this service tends to have a more “traditional” feel and is the largest of our worship services)  Faith Creek Sunday School class meets this hour during worship.

Our Sunday 10:45 AM service is led by piano, percussion and a song leader.  The music serves the word of God and is more contemporary/contemplative in nature but also includes Lutheran hymnody including global music.  Holy Communion is served each week. Currently we do not have Faith Creed Sunday School at this hour.

Our Wednesday 6:30 PM service is led by a guitar and percussion and vocalists.  Holy Communion is served each week.  This is a very laid back and relaxed worship experience.

Music in Worship

Music plays a significant and special role during worship at St. John’s.  We lift our voices in song, and our spirits are lifted as well.  There are many opportunities for congregation members to participate in music, with a Chancel Choir, Children’s Choirs, Bell Choirs, special music ensembles, and individual special music.

For more information about St. John’s Worship & Music, contact Sarah Garner, Director of Music & Organist at sarah@stjom.org or call 952-472-1416 ext. 227.
